Toy Invasion

Toy Invasion was an exercise in working with programmers, we didn't come out with a playable game, but it was a valuable experience, and I'm very happy to have created what I did, and I was pleased with what I came out with from it.

Toy Invasion was a group of artists made up of myself, Debbie Stephens, Duncan Jones, Scott Thompson and Christian Neale. And a group of programmers, who were Damian Shore, Jim Gillespie and Katy Cotterell. The pitch/idea we worked on was not created by us, but was created by Barry Atkins.

We each carried out work on major areas of the project, making sure everyone did a little bit of everything, by the end of the project I had also turned into the project manager, dishing out the work and arranging meetings, it was all-round an enjoyable experience having a bit more control than usual.

Sadly our game never actually became a game, after our programmers having problems getting things into Torque we changed with a few weeks left to the Unreal 2004 engine, where they had more problems. I did get a large amount of work done for this project which I am very proud of.

A step by step development diary can be found on my blog here it includes work I may not have put up here.
