Three Hundred and Forty Eight: Two new games!

Yay two new games arrived today, one which I should have bought on release and that is Dark Souls.

Zavvi had the limited edition up for a price that I just couldn't resist so I had to buy it, especially because I wanted to pick up a copy before all the limited edition's sold out.

Then also my Star Wars: The Old Republic Collector's Edition came today as well, five days before the game's official launch, however I'm sat without an early access key which is slightly annoying, but I've got so many other games to play-and that I should be playing I don't think it matters too much that I can't play SWTOR yet.

Will it live up to Star Wars Galaxies, or will I be left with an empty feeling while playing it, only time will tell, hopefully I can put aside a little time for it, but I don't want my consoles games to get left behind.

Three Hundred and Forty Seven: Introducing the Humble Indie Bundle 4

So it's been a short while since the Humble Introversion Bundle, well now there's more Humble goodness with the Humble Indie Bundle 4, which contains so many games it makes it hard to read the image showing you what's on offer.

Not only does it include the absolutely amazing Bit.Trip Runner and Super Meat Boy but if you pay over the average you can actually get Gratuitous Space Battle and Cave Story+ included in the bundle!

Three Hundred and Forty Six: Now this one's a daily tee!

Can't go wrong with a Pokemon and Katamari mashup t-shirt.

I think I should call it my Pokemari t-shirt from now on.

Three Hundred and Forty Five: A cute top! And it's not a daily tee!

I mentioned having bought another item off etsy when I showed off my cute Pac-Man skirt, well here it is, another popular culture icon in a clothing form. Although it's 90s cartoons instead of gamey, and if you weren't hooked on the cartoon and were born in the 80s, must be crazy!

As it was made in America it is actually the correct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, unlike Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles which was the corrected name for the UK. Like the skirt it is more suited to Summer attire but with a warm hoodie or cosy shirt I can see myself wearing it during colder times too.

Three Hundred and Forty Four: The Spike VGAs

The famed Spike VGAs happened this morning, or the 10th for those in America, they just happened to fall at 1am over here meaning in order to watch them you had to stay up and stay awake to see all the announcements, plus of course the awards.

After having watched the awards last year I can honestly say I wasn't expecting much change, sadly the awards are overshadowed by cheesy jokes and embarrassing situations and of course what most watch them for. The game announcements!

Luckily there were some interesting looking games announced, including The Last of Us, a HD remake of Tony Hawks Pro Skater and of course a trailer for Alan Wake's American Nightmare (not American Adventure like I keep calling it), I was really looking forward to watching the VGAs purely for the announcements. I'll always look at the winners of the awards and either agree or disagree after the show by just looking on the website and finding out there. However from the silliness of it all I even fell asleep.

The awards evening hasn't changed in any way at all and make it seem like those interested in watching the awards are immature and completely superficial people who don't care about anything, which includes all the hard work put in from the developers behind the games.

Perhaps one day they'll change, however I think that next year I'll have a normal night and see all the announcements the following morning.

Three Hundred and Forty Three: The Capcom Christmas party

An event I love to attend each year when invited is the Capcom Community Christmas party, I joined the forums when I found out a lovely person from Atari had started working there and I've posted on there ever since.

Then from attending the parties I've grown to know loads of the great members of the European Capcom Community and enjoy having fun playing upcoming games just before Christmas and meeting some new people or of course chatting to friends.

Although I must say I felt bad for spending most of the time chatting to Charlotte as I just don't see her enough these days! It was a great party though and my thanks go out to all the organisers and staff at Capcom Europe.

Three Hundred and Forty Two: My goal this Christmas

For the past couple of years around Christmas time I've been baking Gingerbread, people enjoy them and I totally love them, plus I can always put some out for people at work as well as for the family on Christmas day.

This year I think I'm going to give gingerbread biscuits a miss, even though I really do love making them, I'm going to go for a slightly more traditional British sweet snack, and that is Mince pies.

For anyone outside of the UK that reads mince pies and things ugh why would you put mince in a sweet pie. Well in the past they did include meat, however nowadays you'll find a mixture of fruit, occasionally spirits and of course various spices.

Now the only thing to figure out is how I can make mince pies related to games in some way.

Three Hundred and Forty One: Stuffed Mushrooms!

I never used to like mushrooms, in fact I hated them, they always looked so slimy so I was always put off them and refused to eat them. Until I was introduced to button mushrooms, having been cooked whole they didn't have a slimy look and were cute and appealing.

A few years later I now love mushrooms, be it button, exotic, closed or open cup they all have their distinctive taste and always taste delicious when cooked in a little butter. I had a go at stuffing some Portobello mushrooms today, for the first time and they turned out very nice.

The stuffing is a mixture of cream cheese, shredded cooked ham hock, chopped onion, grated cheese and chopped button mushrooms, as well as a few spices such and other flavourings including garlic salt, onion granules, smoked paprika and a few other bits and bobs.

They were amazing and I highly encourage everyone to eat yummy mushrooms, one phrase I have stolen from a friend is that they're nature's meat, but in a non-meat sense of course.
